Teach First
Teach First is an independent charity which transforms the life chances of children from all backgrounds by recruiting and supporting the most exceptional graduates to teach and lead in schools in challenging circumstances across the country.
In March 2010, Teach First held a charity ball for its ambassadors and wanted a modern way to sell tickets, moving away from paper lists and cheque payments.
Although a significant part of localboxoffice is about promoting local events to local people, their competitive pricing (almost 50% cheaper than other alternatives we looked at) meant that we wanted to use them to sell our tickets. We took advantage of their private listing technology allowing us to have a listing on localboxoffice available only to those who knew our specific url. We are grateful that we managed to have the majority of sales through localboxoffice, but that the site still has the technology to track the odd cash sales that we took in the office.

The Hurst Green Singers
Until we signed up with localboxoffice.com, Hurst Green Singers had relied entirely for ticket sales via members, plus some posters and flyers distributed locally. While it took a little time to catch on, and for people to get to know the site, we have found it enormously useful in spreading the word beyond our normal supporters and this Christmas it has undoubtedly helped us to achieve a full house.

Tatsfield Village Hall
We sell the majority of tickets to our events in the village itself, but localboxoffice enables us to reach wider audiences as well allowing us to take credit and debit card bookings.
